“We have decided to send company CEOs an e-mail proposing that two people from the Smarter Solutions team travel to their facility and work with them and members from the CEO team for one day to draft a complete business system for integrating scorecards, strategic planning, business improvement, and control mechanisms. In short, introduce them completely and personally to the IEE Enterprise process Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (E-DMAIC) system that they have read about in my critically acclaimed series of books” (http://www.amazon.com/New-Books-by-Forrest-Breyfogle/lm/R2NKBB32H32H3O/ref=cm_lm_pdp_title_full).

CEO Feedback Prompts Decisive Plan of Action
In this current economic crisis, a troubling trend has emerged. A trend which has resulted in even the most talented Black Belts (BBs) and Master Black Belts (MBBs) waking up to find that they are suddenly out of a job.
It is clear that the main force beyond the realm of the present economic crisis in this troubling trend is that the value of these professionals’ work is not being felt at the executive level.
Given the positive and ever growing feedback Breyfogle has received from CEOs who have read his Integrated Enterprise Excellence (IEE) 4 book set, it is becoming obvious that the ideas and principles associated with the IEE E-DMAIC concept presented in his writings have struck a resonating chord with senior executives.
And while Breyfogle views increasing senior executive acceptance for the IEE methodology as a positive, especially as it provides testimony to the clear and practical manner in which the concepts are outlined in his books, he was nonetheless concerned that the message might become somewhat diluted through a simple information “hand-off” between a CEO and his performance improvement team. Hence his introduction of the 1-Day CEO Session.
The agenda for the 1-Day session would begin with a 30-minute meeting with the CEO and his or her team (including the individual or individuals with whom the Smarter Solutions duo would work for the entire day), to identify the most important issues the organization currently faces.
The balance of the day would then be spent working with the CEO’s team to “rough out” the entire E-DMAIC system, using real data as it is made available.
The results of this exercise would then be presented to the CEO the following morning.
The end result is a clearer and more precise landscape of the organization’s operations including a prioritized list of what needs to be done to drive greater efficiency within the present framework. From this position of “real knowledge” the CEO can ensure that the energy and resources afforded the company through Black Belts and Master Black Belts expertise is being fully leveraged to achieve a meaningful goal or outcome.
The 1-Day CEO Session in essence brings the pages and corresponding insights of the IEE series of books to life.
