As you know, our PI Window on Business Special on June 30th “21st Century Leadership: An Evolutionary Process” features a guest panel of four highly acclaimed, best selling authors.  Included in this impressive group is Merydith Willoughby, whose book “Sex in the Boardroom” has gained both attention and praise for its insights regarding effective leadership development techniques.

This past Saturday, The Washington Post published an article by Merydith titled “Five Leadership How-Tos for Recession Survival”  that is a worthwhile read.  I am of course pleased to provide you with the link to the article.

Merydith has also been kind enough to provide our readership with an excerpt from her new book Sex in the Boardroom through the following LINK.

Leading up to the June 30th broadcast, we be posting featured articles and interviews from our guest panel and would invite you to take the opportunity to get to know these truly remarkable individuals on a first-hand basis.

For those in supply chain practice, understanding the dynamics of leadership thinking, including the forces that are now reshaping how decisions are being made within your organization is a critical part of taking the expanded view I had discussed in my June 3rd post.

In short, we can no longer operate within a functional silo having only to focus on our own specific tasks for a given day.  To be effective, and of sustaining value to our companies we need to follow the lead of CFOs and CIOs whose roles are evolving to include a broader responsibility that extends beyond the traditional definition of their job descriptions.

June 30th PI Window on Business Special to Examine Leadership in the 21st Century

Be sure to mark Tuesday, June 30th on your calendars as I will be joined by a guest panel of four internationally acclaimed/best selling authors who have appeared on major networks such as CNN and Fox to discuss (perhaps even debate) the attributes that the 21st Century business leader will need to possess to navigate the complex and challenging waters of the emerging global marketplace.

The experts to which I am referring are Bill McAneny (Frankenstein’s Manager: Leadership’s Missing Links), Dr. Gabriela Cora (Leading Under Pressure), Merydith Willoughby whose latest book (Sex in the Boardroom) provides a system approach to leadership development, and Forrest Breyfogle III (IEE: Beyond Six Sigma and the Balanced Scorecard).  It is a show you will not want to miss!
