The Weekly Cause: Water Missions International

With the dramatic growth in readership since being launched in May 2007 (Procurement Insights currently reaches more than 300,000 syndicated subscribers each month worldwide), and the tremendous response to the new PI Window on Business Show on Blog Talk Radio, social media has certainly played a significant part in our success.

And while business endeavors are important, the true value of social networking and its global reach extends well beyond this element to include what L.J. Hanifan referred to as the “tangible substances” which “count for most in the daily lives of people.”  In essence, social networking can and should drive “a social potentiality sufficient to the substantial improvement of living conditions in the whole community.”   

Within the context of this spirit, we at Procurement Insights are committed to furthering this collective benefit, and are therefore pleased to use the pages of this blog to feature a worthy cause every Friday.

Mission

Water Missions International’s (WMI) mission is to provide access to safe water and an opportunity to hear the “Living Water” message in developing countries and disaster areas.

Company Overview

Water Missions International (WMI) is a nonprofit, Christian engineering organization serving the water and sanitation needs of people in developing countries and disaster areas.  WMI uses low-maintenance, appropriate water technologies for drinking water treatment and distribution, wastewater management, and storm water control.

WMI’s vision is that no person should perish for want of safe drinking water or an opportunity to hear the “Living Water” message.
