With the dramatic growth in readership since being launched in May 2007 (Procurement Insights currently reaches more than 300,000 syndicated subscribers each month worldwide), and the tremendous response to the new PI Window on Business Show on Blog Talk Radio, social media has certainly played a significant part in our success.
And while business endeavors are important, the true value of social networking and its global reach extends well beyond this element to include what L.J. Hanifan referred to as the “tangible substances” which “count for most in the daily lives of people.” In essence, social networking can and should drive “a social potentiality sufficient to the substantial improvement of living conditions in the whole community.”
Within the context of this spirit, we at Procurement Insights are committed to furthering this collective benefit, and are therefore pleased to use the pages of this blog to feature a worthy cause every Friday.
Last week we featured The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, the profile of which is available through the “Categories” section of this blog under the “Weekly Cause” link. This week we are pleased to introduce you to Water Missions International.
