With the dramatic growth in readership since being launched in May 2007 (Procurement Insights currently reaches more than 300,000 syndicated subscribers each month worldwide), and the tremendous response to the new PI Window on Business Show on Blog Talk Radio, social media has certainly played a significant part in our success.

And while business endeavors are important, the true value of social networking and its global reach extends well beyond this element to include what L.J. Hanifan referred to as the “tangible substances” which “count for most in the daily lives of people.”  In essence, social networking can and should drive “a social potentiality sufficient to the substantial improvement of living conditions in the whole community.”

Within the context of this spirit, we at Procurement Insights are committed to furthering this collective benefit, and are therefore pleased to use the pages of this blog to feature a worthy cause every Friday.

Last week we featured Water Missions International, the profile of which is available through the “Categories” section of this blog under the “Weekly Cause” link.  This week we are pleased to introduce you to Community Bridges.

Mission

Community Bridges is dedicated to providing community building services to the mainstream public through our education efforts and quality treatment for substance use disorders for men and women.  We believe addiction is a disease that carries tremendous consequences for individuals, families, the workplace, and the community as a whole and that prevention and treatment are the keys to combating substance abuse.

Always with Dignity . . . A Pathway to Hope

Community Bridges was incorporated as a private non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization in 1982 and has a 26 year history providing substance abuse Prevention, Education and Treatment services using cutting edge, nationally recognized treatment models.  During this time period, over 500,000 individuals have received treatment and over 300,000 have benefited from our school and community based education programs.

Welcome to Community Bridges . . . A Pathway to Hope

You can help make a difference in the lives of newborns and young children we serve at the Center for Hope.  Our prevention programs also impact thousands of homeless youth each year through our Prevention Partnership community based programs.  Won’t you please consider donating to the Center for Hope and other Community Bridges programs?   Please use the following LINK to learn more.
