Washington State Shares Top Spot in 2008 PEW Center Report

The next State I will be reviewing in my continuing series on the findings of the 2008 PEW Center Grading the States Report is Washington.

Provided in the context of a 2005 detailed analysis of the University of Washington’s procurement practice, in which I closely examined the interaction between the University and the State from an operational policy standpoint, this segment should provide you with some interesting insights into one of the many factors that has contributed to this recent success.

Please look for the Washington post in the coming days.

Breaking News . . .

After a somewhat lengthy exercise in which I tapped into the expertise of industry thought leaders on government policy from around the globe, I will be posting an overview of the results of my research under the heading The Lisbon Strategy and Other EU Programs: What It Means to the GoC’s Shared Services Strategy.

As an introduction to a comprehensive White Paper of the same name, this post will view the Government of Canada’s Shared Services strategy through the broad lens of market globalization.

A Virtual Roundtable featuring thought leaders from around the globe is also planned for late spring 2008.  Consisting of practitioners and academics from both the public and private sectors, the discussion will center on the role of government policy in emerging global markets.
