Popular Games With A Procurement Twist Enhance Training (Next Level Purchasing)

PITTSBURGH, PA – November 17, 2008 – While you may not expect to find procurement-related questions on popular game shows, SPSM® Certification-provider Next Level Purchasing has brought some more fun to the purchasing field by integrating purchasing information with such games as hangman, million-dollar quiz, and crosswords.

The games, designed to not only bring fun to purchasing training but also reinforce a student’s learning, are alreay available at the mid-point of all ten of Next Level Purchasing’s full-length online procurement courses.  The course “14 purchasing best practices” includes a game similar to “Jeopardy” and reviews material from the first four lessons.  The student will have three categories to choose from: “Annual Buying Plans,” “Supplier Performance,” and “Qualifying Suppliers.”  Each category offers three questions with point values ranging from 100-300 and the student will have two and a half minutes to answer as many questions correctly as possible.  Additional games are expected to be added throughout each course in the near future.

A special game will be available to the public for free through the eNewsletter PurchTips starting on November 19, 2008.  The “Million Dollar Savings Game,” which includes questions based on content from previous editors of PurchTips, mimics “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” in its format.  The contestant has two hints available to help them try to achieve as much “cost savings” as possible.
