PI Window on Business Examines “The Psychology of Social Networking” (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Jon-Hansen)

As social networking evolves into a primary vehicle for establishing relationships, the medium’s impact on the world of business is unquestionably significant.  In our June 4th broadcast “The Psychology of Social Networking” we examine both the benefits as well as the challenges of social networking from psychological barriers to the generational divide across the global enterprise.  (NOTE: at no other time in business history are multiple generations simultaneously employed as part of the same workforce – some companies actually have four different generations represented within their organization.  What impact does social networking have across the broad spectrum of diverse personalities and experiences?)

In the end, the question that needs to be answered is simply this, where will social networking take us in the future, and will it ultimately become one of the key differentiators for companies in terms of bottom line success?

To answer this as well as other questions we will be joined by an esteemed panel of social networking experts which includes Ecademy Founder Penny Power, bestselling author of 27 books including “The Truth About Profiting from Social Networking” Patrice-Anne Rutledge, social marketing guru Andrew Ballenthin, and business coach, adviser and social networking columnist Lyndle A. Savage Sr.

Starting today, and each day leading up to our June 4th broadcast, Procurement Insights will feature each member of the panel including information on their respective organizations, books and other related material.  This is a show you will not want to miss.

Penny Power (Ecademy)

In her Ecademy Profile, Penny Power expressed her belief that “Networking is about Connecting with Your Heart to leave a lasting memory.”  She went on to say that “the best Networkers create relationships first, and as a result commerce follows.”

This is an interesting perspective, which perhaps provides some insight as to why a 2008 commissioned report found that Ecademy is the most popular online networking site among members with 14% more visitors than its nearest rival, LinkedIn.”

Besides visiting Penny’s profile on Ecademy, which provides a wealth of information, I would like to share with you the following video which asks the question “Why Ecademy?”
