“All right. So I kind of want this to be not a dialogue on some level, John, and so I trust you to assist me with that endeavor. I’m going to start you here and I’m going to really focus on showing you how we think we differentiate from our competitors. And I’m going to do that by starting as somebody in like in the sourcing organization. One of our. Not necessarily. It’s not an admin, not a. But it would be like a procurement sourcing power issues or should be kind of standard for our customers. Whether you have 10 people in your. In your procurement, it doesn’t really matter for us.” – Zach Bolt, Focal Point
The following is an excerpt from an actual demo by a ProcureTech solution provider, Focal Point. The demo started after a 33-minute introduction and assessment process to determine whether seeing a demo was warranted.
During this pre-demo assessment phase, I confirm that the provider has the industry knowledge and the bench strength to deliver a viable solution using an agent-based development and implementation model.
There is obviously considerably more research and investigation before and after the demonstration. However, for the purposes of this post, I will focus on the demo of the platform itself.
An Important Note
“I actually got brownie points with the prospect the other day I was on-site with somebody, and they said to me, you didn’t mention AI all the way through our discussion.” – Matthew Buckingham, Focal Point”
As you will see, the demonstration begins with the Focal Point Procurement Engine, e.g., Orchestration and Data Layers. The utilization of AI isn’t mentioned until later in the demo. Here is the link to an earlier Procurement Insights post explaining why I consider this important: The first solution provider to mention AI loses!
