“One thing we often face in the world of procurement analytics and SaaS is the question of Build vs. Buy. Glad to announce that we are hosting a webinar to discuss this dilemma. If you’re deciding between building in-house solutions or going with external providers, this is the session for you.” – Sammeli Sammalkorpi, CEO and Co-Founder at Sievo
Here are my thoughts regarding the topic of Build versus Buy:
In the context of your panel discussion, Sammeli Sammalkorpi you will find the following to be a good read and to stimulate the conversation in a potentially different direction – https://procureinsights.com/2024/10/14/38578/
As someone with 40 plus years in high tech and procurement and remembers the MAI Basic Four era of Industry Specific Applications, my position regarding the buy versus build debate is simple: with either option, Procurement Practitioners must step up and take the lead in their own initiative’s success.
To put it another way, if practitioners can’t do it for themselves, e.g., the build option, they are not going to fare much better with the buy option. A generational initiative failure rate of 80% confirms the validity of the above statement.
