Creating specifications and evaluation criteria that may make digital management of sourcing and products easier, but which may not suit the business. Winning contracts is often about .how you tell it’. Great product but limited expertise in ‘how you tell it’ may lose against much poorer product and much slicker tendering. So there is an increased risk that digital procurement may provide an alibi if things go wrong, rather than ensure the business gets what it needs and stays ahead of the game.
