I drive a 2011 Honda Pilot with 309K mileage. I use a ThinkPad notebook, and I can’t even remember the year I bought it. I live in a comfortable, somewhat spacious split-level home with a big backyard in a quiet, mature neighborhood.
Whenever someone asks me why I don’t buy a new truck, my answer is simple: with proper care, it still works – it does what it is supposed to do!
Whenever someone asks me why I don’t upgrade my notebook to the latest and greatest, my answer is simple: it works, and while using a newer system may have some cool features and a bigger screen, it wouldn’t change or improve my work output.
As for the house, sure, a bigger place with more square footage may offer more room to collect more stuff, but how much more would it improve the quality of my life.
Don’t get me wrong, I am as ambitious at 65 as I was at 25 – maybe even more so. Our kids have the latest and most remarkable leading-edge technologies that are light years ahead of mine, and my wife has a very cool sports car that will make you look for the air mask dropdown when you feel the engine power propelling the vehicle forward and you the other way into the seat. I can almost imagine what it feels like to be an astronaut in a rocket, taking off for the stars.
I am saying that there are times when you need a rocket-fast sports car, and there are times you need a four-wheel-on-the-ground Honda Pilot to get you from point A to point B. In short, it isn’t an either-or scenario. Unfortunately, that is not always the case with ProcureTech.
Take a moment to read the following email from a Global Supply Chain Director. Then ask yourself the following two questions:
- Are we overlooking the easy and immediate bottom-line wins we could get from my procurement team today?
- Why do I often hear that procurement is about something “more than savings”—which it is—yet find out that we are still leaving money on the table?
What Are We Missing?
Good afternoon, Rod!
I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for this outstanding product. I have used Propurchaser since I head about you through ISM Twin Cities. I had my Supply Chain Specialist buy a seat after we learned more at an ISM conference. This has saved us thousands and thousands of dollars annually. I share various commodity indices with my sales teams, arming them with information when talking to customers about costs; and I use these charts when talking to vendors, pushing back on proposed price increases. Having this information at my fingertips is so outstanding, and being able to compare to years prior arms me with information when negotiating with vendors.
I think today we don’t take time enough to appreciate one another. Thank you, I appreciate the brilliance you have created with Propurchaser!
Kind regards,
Molly Kennedy

After reading the above about a solution provider who has been in business for 25 years, tell me why you wouldn’t work with them, or at least talk to them!

ProPurchaser may be a “one trick pony,” but it is one pretty impressive trick!
