Orchestration Was Never About Technology

The industry has hijacked “orchestration” to mean technology integration. APIs. Middleware. System connectivity. Data flows between platforms.

But orchestration — from the actual orchestra — was always about coordinating performers (agents) to produce a unified outcome. The conductor doesn’t orchestrate the instruments. The conductor orchestrates the musicians.

The Irony Chain:

  1. Nico Bac 🚀 posts “F**k ERP” — blaming technology
  2. James Meads responds with “minimize touchpoints” — still technology-first
  3. Both miss that orchestration should be about agents, not systems
  4. The entire thread proves why 80% of initiatives fail: even the critics are trapped in the technology-first paradigm
