In case some of my readers from the Commonwealth of Virginia thought that I may have forgotten about you these previous two Friday’s, I of course haven’t. Even though my weekly JLARC posts were conspicuously absent from the “pages” of the Procurement Insights Blog, a great deal was still happening.
To begin, it seems that we are in an interesting season of public sector procurement. From the radio and newspaper interviews I had given to the local media here in the Nation’s Capital, to a scintillating interview I conducted as host of my own show (PI Window on Business) with the Vice President of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) which happens to represent 105,000 small to medium enterprises, there was no shortage of drama. By the way, here is the link to last Thursday’s CFIB interview as I am certain that even my American readers will both identify and truly appreciate the challenges faced by SMEs in terms of doing business with the government – any government.
That said I wanted to let the results from the eVA Poll, and in particular the comments that nearly 25 percent of all respondents have provided to this point in time, both inform as well as encourage you to throw your “hat” into the proverbial ring of public opinion. In essence, take but a few seconds to vote, and if you are so inclined a couple of minutes to share your thoughts.
eVA Poll and Corresponding Radio Broadcast
Here is the link to the Procurement Insights/PI Window on Business Poll that asks the question “Is Virginia’s eVA program a benefit to SME/minority & women-owned suppliers?”
Click on the above question and cast your vote. Please note that the poll has been created through the LinkedIn Business Network. If you are not a network member but want to vote, simply follow the on-line prompts to quickly set-up a profile. There is no cost to join, and you will also gain access to a number of tremendous resources including the newly established “Public Sector Supplier Forum.” Also note that your name will remain confidential unless you choose to post a comment.
Rather than airing a special JLARC segment in June, the PI Window on Business Blog Talk Radio Show will instead do a segment on the JLARC legislative review process and resulting paper on July 16th (3 days after the July 13th report is officially released). During the show, we will be accepting calls from all sides of this important issue.
Visit the PI Window on Business Show’s main page for broadcast details.
