EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is my response to a new comment on an article I posted to LinkedIn five months ago. I still don’t understand how an old post can stimulate current comment activity—maybe it has something to do with the LinkedIn algorithms. However, that is a discussion for another day.
Post Excerpt:
83% of AI initiatives fail – 75% of AI solution providers today will be gone by the end of 2025. As a practitioner and solution provider, what are your next steps?
Current day comment:
What is the logic behind 75%?
My Response:
Marshall Mathias empirical based on 40 years in high tech and procurement – including parctitioner feedback, and experiencing the dot-com boom and bust first-hand.
Marshall Mathias’ Response:
Noted…and cannot contest that! Though I would spilt AI in procurement down to Gen AI and Agentic AI, and revisit the math – the percentage would be substantially lower for the latter.
My Response:
Marshall Mathias, I will do that?
Now it is your turn to share your thoughts – is an Agentic AI ProcureTech solution implementation likely to be more successful than a Generative AI ProcureTech implementation?
