1. How much confidence do you have in Generative AI and Agentic AI?

2. How effective are Generative AI and Agentic AI in streamlining the RFP process?

3. Is AI right to match Byrne Dairy with the ProcureTech solution provider, AdaptOne, to enhance its procurement practice?

QUESTION #1 ANSWER

The 4-Model Generative AI Response

Here is the 4-model Generative AI response to the question: Who are the Top 10 ProcureTech RFP solution providers, and what do they say about how AI and Agentic AI streamline the RFP process?

The ProcureTech solution provider ranking is based on how often the same provider appeared in the four different AI-generated source lists.

  1. Responsive (Formerly RFPIO) (3)
  2. Loopio (2)
  3. Qvidian (Upland Software) (2)
  4. Experience Software (2)
  5. SAP Ariba (2)
  6. Coupa Software (2)
  7. Ivalua Inc. (2)
  8. Zycus Inc. (2)
  9. Jaggaer (2)
  10. AdaptOne (1)

How many times have the above companies been on the Gartner Magic Quadrant?

Summary Table

CompanyRecognized on Gartner Magic Quadrant?
Responsive (Formerly RFPIO)No
LoopioNo
Qvidian (Upland Software)No (not in current procurement quadrants)
Expedience SoftwareNo
SAP AribaYes
Coupa SoftwareYes
Ivalua Inc.Yes
Zycus Inc.Yes
JaggaerYes
AdaptOneNo

Conclusion

Five companies—SAP Ariba, Coupa Software, Ivalua Inc., Zycus Inc., and Jaggaer—have been recognized on Gartner Magic Quadrants, primarily in Source-to-Pay Suites (2024) or Procure-to-Pay Suites (e.g., 2021), due to their comprehensive procurement offerings. The other five—Responsive, Loopio, Qvidian, Expedience Software, and AdaptOne—focus on RFP automation or niche supplier management and are not included in these quadrants, as Gartner prioritizes broader suites over specialized tools. This aligns with their roles in the ProcureTech ecosystem, where RFP-specific providers excel in targeted automation (e.g., prior AI streamlining response) but lack the end-to-end scope Gartner evaluates.

Which of the above ProcureTech solution companies have been recognized or covered by Gartner, Deloitte, and McKinsey?

Summary Table

CompanyGartnerDeloitteMcKinsey
Responsive (Formerly RFPIO)NoYesMaybe
LoopioNoYesMaybe
Qvidian (Upland Software)Yes (past)MaybeNo
Expedience SoftwareNoNoNo
SAP AribaYesYesYes
Coupa SoftwareYesYesYes
Ivalua Inc.YesYesYes
Zycus Inc.YesYesYes
JaggaerYesYesYes
AdaptOneNoMaybeNo

Conclusion

  • Recognized by All Three (Gartner, Deloitte, McKinsey): SAP Ariba, Coupa Software, Ivalua Inc., Zycus Inc., Jaggaer. These are broad-suite ProcureTech leaders with consistent Gartner Magic Quadrant placements, frequent Deloitte S2P coverage, and McKinsey mentions in digital transformation contexts.
  • Partial Recognition:
    • Responsive and Loopio: Likely Deloitte coverage for RFP automation, possible McKinsey mentions, but no Gartner Magic Quadrant status.
    • Qvidian: Past Gartner recognition, possible Deloitte historical coverage, no recent McKinsey focus.
    • AdaptOne: Possible Deloitte mention for niche supplier management, but no Gartner or McKinsey evidence.
  • Not Recognized: Expedience Software: Too niche and small-scale for significant coverage by any of the three.

This assessment leverages prior responses (e.g., Gartner Magic Quadrant) and infers Deloitte/McKinsey coverage based on their focus on impactful, innovative, or widely adopted procurement technologies. Exact mentions may vary, but these conclusions reflect each company’s ProcureTech standing as of March 2025.

Hidden Diamonds In Plain Site?

What are we missing if we rely solely on traditional analyst firms to provide a big (whole) picture view of the potential ProcureTech solution providers with whom we as practitioners should work?

After all, if we don’t know what alternative providers could work with us to deliver significant value, how can we send them an RFP if we don’t know they exist? I am not saying we ignore Gartner, Deloitte, or McKinsey. What I am saying is, how about Spend Matters, James Meads, Joel Collin-Demers, or Sourcing Innovation, to name just four trusted sources to uncover the “hidden diamonds.”

Of course, we are missing the most critical source of knowledge-hunting in the ProcureTech world – YOU.
