Practitioners And Providers Must Stop “Logo Hunting!”

EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a comment exchange regarding a LinkedIn post/video by a practitioner that demonstrates two things:

  • Your success as a practitioner implementing a successful ProcureTech solution is up to you – the practitioner choosing the right solution development and implementation model.
  • Your success as a ProcureTech solution provider depends on choosing the right client who understands the difference between an agent-based and equation-based development and implementation model.

MATTHEW BUCKINGHAM

Jon W. Hansen and James Carithers great point of view.
Often you will see tech companies simply scrambling for any sale, massaging the fit and employing sales tactics to close a deal.

Those tech startups who start with a technology solution and not a business solution are often the most guilty, hunting logos to get funding. And it makes sense if you need those mega rounds of funding, to spend on extreme marketing to win market sentiment, to get more logos. catch 22.

But often you end up with sub-optimal implementation success, and wasted time and money on both sides. Simply by casting too wide a net.

Creating a trusted relationship and alignment early on is key to reducing the noise, avoiding scope creep and ensuring success.

JON HANSEN

Matthew Buckingham well said – a problem-solving synchronized (agent-based) versus tech-led sequential (equation-based) approach is where companies will achieve their desired objectives and success – https://bit.ly/3Oo0y16

As it stands right now, there are only three solution providers I know of so far that are agent-based problem-solvers: AdaptOne, Focal Point, and ConvergentIS.

The proper utilization and leveraging of technology was never, or will ever be, a logo hunt, as you called it. By the way, logo hunting is a two-way street: solution practitioners look at logo maps for providers, and providers looking to add practitioner logos to their websites.

TODAY’S TAKEAWAY

I would put these three solution providers up against any other logo on any solution map out there, and you, as the practitioner, would come out on top if they saw you as a practitioner wanting to solve problems rather than chase logos.
