In the the third and final installment from my 2005 Keynote Address to 200 senior automotive industry executives regarding the utilization of Reverse Auctions, we open the mike to the audience.
Once again, this was my first speaking engagement regarding my research between 1998 and 2003 in terms of developing web-based procurement solutions utilizing an agent versus equation-based model.
In my opinion, the Q&A session following the presentation was most interesting and controversial in that it reflected the level of antagonism that had grown in the industry between automotive industry buyers and their suppliers (especially relating to technology and in particular reverse auctions).
I think that you will find this equally interesting, especially when you consider the question as to whether or not the industry on both sides of the transaction fence has progressively improved since 2005.
