A Tale Of Two ProcureTech Demos

Here is the review of a demo about which I wrote on Friday: Globality Demo > The Road to the ProcureTech Cup: Episode 25-06 (Click on the link to access and watch the demo)

Here is my take on the Globality Demo:

  • From what I saw, it is an excellent application, but nothing unique compared to what I have seen in many other demos. There is a component or element that can read text and allow the buying group to consolidate and coordinate the information it uses – think of it as a Globality version of ChatGPT.
  • It is rudimentary when it comes to MRO procurement and auctions, including tracking and measuring fulfillment capabilities for future orders. I don’t quite understand this because, in the era of GenAI, the self-learning algorithms I used to develop my platform in the 1990s and early 2000s would be much better used in the present-day platform.
  • While recognizing the role of other stakeholders within and outside the enterprise, the specifics regarding actual adoption and utilization level were minimal.
  • It was a good preliminary demo, but there was a minimal WOW factor because, other than the logo and graphics, I couldn’t distinguish it from other solution provider demos.

As I said, it was excellent, but it is really a “get-to-know-us” demo that is more of a PR/Marketing vehicle than a serious demonstration of Agent-based problem-solving skills and the complexity of utilizing self-learning algorithms within a nascent AI framework.

The above demo runs for a little more than 31 minutes. It is similar to many of the other demos I have seen regarding ProcureTech’s use of AI.

My Version Of A Demo

Here is what I consider to be the best demo format:

  • A pure versus PR/Marketing filtered presentation
  • An interactive two-way conversation
  • Proof that the solution provider used an agent-based, problem-solving model – A presentation that not only showcases the highlights but recognizes that the platform is not a turn-key, off-the-shelf application. In short, the practitioner will have some work to do
  • The willingness to have the session recorded

The video you will see here is approximately 47 minutes long, but the extra 16 minutes are worth it!

Disclosure: I do not own any shares in this solution provider or receive any commissions from them. However, I will, along with the other solution providers in My Suite, move mountains to ensure their success and the SUCCESS of the clients they seek to serve!
