TRUE ProcureTech orchestration and intake are ineffective outside of a Metaprise

The above is a simplified model of the Metaprise I used to develop my ProcureTech solution in 1999

EDITOR’S NOTE: Below is a comment regarding one of my latest posts about the differences between Horizontal Stacking and Intelligent Vertical Integration.

READER COMMENT

Jon W. Hansen – I find this topic interesting for more reasons than just that I founded a business to solve this problem.

Having implemented multiple suite solutions as part my tours of duty as a CPO I was always disappointed with the lack of process and data integration. I began thinking the discussion of “best of breed vs suite” almost silly because most suites have been built by acquisition with the acquired technology never really integrated into the core products.

Hardly anyone have all modules of a suite solution and even if they do there is a very good chance they have modules/services from other providers (Supplier.io, TealBook, RapidRatings or DitchCarbon for example). I saw the need to develop a solution that made this patchwork be cohesive and work together rather than a bunch of one-trick-ponies.

Thanks for taking notice.

MY RESPONSE

Anders Lillevik: That is why I classify Focal Point as an AI operating system rather than a front-end functional AI solution. Interestingly, you mention the above providers, as I am familiar with them—especially the work that Stephany Lapierre and her team are doing.

I also see a potential connection with these and so many other providers, which is why I wrote the post asking the question, “What good is a database without an operating system?” – https://bit.ly/3ALuNvQ

One Final Thought:

We must recognize that orchestration and intake are not new concepts but fall under or within the Metaprise model. Have a read of this post I wrote in 2007 regarding what is now happening with companies like Focal Point and ConvergentIShttps://procureinsights.com/2007/06/02/dangerous-supply-chain-myths-part-3/

There are only two main categories of solution providers – AI operating system providers and AI front-end functional providers. Within the second category, AI front-end functional providers, there are sub-categories, most of which are the logos you see on many solution provider maps.
