The response to my post on LinkedIn yesterday regarding my recent article – The End Of The Analyst Firm As We Know It, has stimulated quite a discussion. I want to share the following with you and invite you to share your thoughts on this blog or – if you are on LinkedIn there if you prefer.

Michael LamoureuxJon W. Hansen, I wish they’d be honest and admit all their Tech and Procurement failures …

JWH – Michael Lamoureux, I thought the following post was an admission of failure – https://bit.ly/3ZfbK5o

In reality, no one fails alone in these situations. Practitioners who use an equation-based development and implementation model and seek silver-bullet solutions must ultimately take responsibility for their successes and failures.

That said, the hope that Agentic AI or any form of technology past, present, and future will ever replace the need for better communication and collaboration within enterprises outside of using an agent-based model must be recognized and accepted now, or we will be having this same discussion 10 years from now when the next, great tech breakthrough occurs.

JWH – Michael Lamoureux Regarding my previous comment, this post says it all, e.g., great tech cannot overcome poor communication and collaboration between stakeholders (agents) internally and externally. – https://bit.ly/3BgUVyy

So, here is my question: Will Agentic AI work to its optimal potential in an environment with poor communication and collaboration between stakeholders (agents), both internally and externally?

Duncan Jones – No, they’re sensibly using AI to automate some base processes so they can deliver the same value to clients at lower cost. WTP?

JWH – Duncan Jones please see my replies to Michael Lamoureux‘s comment in this discussion stream, then let’s circle back because you raise a fair question.

Canda Rozier, Procurement EvangelistJon (I suspect you know my views on this!) I don’t believe that any technology solution, agentic AI or otherwise, can succeeded without a strong organizational change program, including communications, which fosters collaboration across all stakeholder groups.

JWH – Canda Rozier, Procurement Evangelist, my sentiments exactly. Duncan Jones per your comment and my reply, please see Canda’s comment above.
